The five-step escape plan.

This is the part to keep open during your first run. The objective order is verified; exact item locations are intentionally not written as permanent facts.

01
ORIENT

Read the nest before moving

Use the opening view from above to identify a first direction and remember the green EXIT marker.

WATCH FOR: Do not treat any specific spawn or hallway as permanent; the game is pre-alpha.
02
MATCH

Place the red, yellow, and blue cubes

Carry each large cube to the area with the same color. Move one cube at a time and reset your route between carries.

WATCH FOR: A cube in hand is not progress until it reaches its matching color area.
03
TOOL

Take the wire cutters

Completing the color stage leads to the wire cutters. Use them to progress through the next blocked part of the route.

WATCH FOR: Do not search for a permanent tool room; exact placement may change with updates.
04
APPROACH

Secure the Locust’s keycard

The Locust carries the card needed for the final escape. Plan an approach and a separate retreat path before closing distance.

WATCH FOR: This is a threat encounter, not a fixed room pickup. Leave immediately after getting the card.

05
ESCAPE

Return to the green EXIT

Stop searching once the chain is complete. Take your safest known route back and use the keycard at the marked exit door.

WATCH FOR: Remember the EXIT before the chase starts; wandering with the card wastes a good run.
EXIT

CORE GAMEPLAY LOOP

One item. One safe reset. Then advance.

The useful rhythm is not constant sprinting. It is short cycles of information, movement, escape, and progress.

  1. 01

    Scout

Find the next objective and a return route before committing.

  2. 02

    Move one item

Carry one cube cleanly instead of juggling the whole set.

  3. 03

    Break sight

Use a known corner or divider; temporary height is not guaranteed safety.

  4. 04

    Reset or unlock

Return to a calm route, then advance the objective chain.

MEMORY RULEMove one objective. Break sight. Reset the route.

ADVANCED ROUTE

Stop reacting. Start routing.

CAMERA

Read the room before you drop

The run begins from above. Use that opening view to choose a first direction instead of landing blind.

ROUTING

Make every carry a round trip

Know where you will retreat before touching a cube or approaching the Locust for the keycard.

PATHING

Treat high ground as temporary

Raised edges and dividers can create space in the current build, but pre-alpha behavior can change.

CO-OP

Split jobs, share the exit

Current playthroughs show players scouting and carrying together. Regroup before the final door.

COMMON RUN-KILLERS

Replace each bad habit with a clean fix.

01
× ERROR

Moving before reading the room

✓ FIX

Choose one objective and one retreat direction from the opening view.

02
× ERROR

Trying to move the full cube set at once

✓ FIX

Complete one clean delivery, reset, then take the next cube.

03
× ERROR

Searching for permanent item spawns

✓ FIX

Follow the verified objective order; treat exact locations as update-sensitive.

04
× ERROR

Approaching the keycard without an exit plan

✓ FIX

Prepare the retreat first and remember where the green EXIT is.

FIELD QUESTIONS

Answers for the first escape.

Short answers, clear source boundaries, and no invented fixed spawn locations.

What is the goal of House of The Locust?

Complete the escape chain: match the red, yellow, and blue cubes, obtain the wire cutters, secure the keycard carried by the Locust, then unlock the green EXIT door.

Which colored cubes do I need?

Red, yellow, and blue. Carry each large cube to the area with the matching color.

What comes after the cubes?

Completing the cube stage leads to the wire cutters. They let you progress into the next part of the escape route.

Where is the keycard?

The Locust carries it. Plan an approach and retreat instead of searching for a permanent room spawn.

How do I recognize the final door?

Look for the green EXIT sign. The keycard is required to complete the escape there.
